Care & Clean
To keep your FreSound open-ear earbuds sounding crisp and lasting longer, a little care goes a long way. Here's how to properly clean and maintain them.
How to Clean Your Earbuds?
Even though FreSound earbuds don't go inside your ears, they can still collect sweat, dust, or skin oils during daily use.
Cleaning steps:
- Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe down the surface after each use.
- For deeper cleaning, use a cloth slightly dampened with clean water. Avoid harsh chemicals or alcohol.
- Make sure the charging contact points on both the earbuds and the charging case are clean and dry.
- If dirt or sweat builds up around the microphone or speaker openings, gently brush it away with a soft-bristled toothbrush or cotton swab.
Note:
- Do not rinse the earbuds or case under running water.
- Do not use compressed air or sharp tools to clean your earbuds.
How to Keep the Charging Case Clean Too?
- Wipe the inside of the charging case with a dry microfiber cloth to remove lint or dust.
- Check the charging pins inside the case regularly to ensure proper connection.
- Avoid putting the case in your pocket with coins, keys, or debris.
Storage & Handling Tips
- Always store your FreSound earbuds in their charging case when not in use.
- Keep them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and high heat (ideal temperature: 0°C–40°C / 32°F–104°F).
- Do not expose them to high humidity for long periods.
- Avoid twisting or bending the earhooks too forcefully, even though they are flexible.
About Water Resistance Care (IPX5)
FreSound earbuds are rated IPX5 water-resistant, meaning they're built to handle sweat and light rain - great for workouts and commutes.
But to protect their long-term durability:
- Don't wear them in the shower, swimming pool, or while bathing.
- After workouts, wipe them down and let them air dry before placing them back in the case.
- Make sure both the earbuds and case are completely dry before charging.
About Long-Term Care
To help your earbuds last:
- Clean them weekly if you use them often for fitness or outdoors.
- Charge them regularly - don't leave them in the case for weeks without use.
- Keep firmware updated if you use the companion app (if available).
