Breaking the Mold
Our breakthrough came when we developed a way to optimize sound transmission while minimizing sound leakage. This allowed us to create headphones that were both private and situational-awareness friendly.
2023 Q4
The Spark
It happened in a sunlit café. Our founder—a illustrator and habitual overthinker—paused her noise-canceling headphones, struck by the birdsong outside the window. In that moment, she suddenly realized: Great audio shouldn't isolate, it should connect.That epiphany ignited FreSound: audio gear that connects the rhythm to the world, and inspires by leaving life's door ajar.
2024 Q1
Prototype Zero
We built the first open-ear prototype with a former acounstic expert from harmon, then gave it to 100 creators worldwide—from Thailand illustrators to Portland novelists. Their feedback was brutal: "Comfort is king." "I need to hear my bandmates." "Don’t make me look like a cyborg." Back to the drawing board.
2024 Q3
